Welcome to the AWFDCP Gerodontology MOOC

This MOOC is designed for Dental Nurses looking to gain extra skills, or refresh their knowledge, in older person care.

Through a series of rich media content, including videos, podcasts and articles, this MOOC will guide you through the topic of Gerodontology and is presented in three sections:

  1. The Ageing Process
  2. Managing the Ageing Dentition
  3. Domiciliary, Residential and Palliative Care

Certification

Assessment 2

At the end of the programme there is the option to gain official certification from the AWFDCP. This costs £20 and includes:

  • Certificate of Achievement based on a short multiple choice exam (open book and unlimited retakes)
  • CPD Certificate for 6 hours of verifiable CPD
